Leadership
(he/him)
Hello! I’m Nelson, the current Stonewall Japan President. I volunteered with Stonewall Japan at a local pride event in 2017 and joined the leadership team in 2018 as the Diversity and Awareness Team Leader. I enjoy working with our volunteers to channel their interests and create a safe and supportive space to foster growth amongst our members. I also actively work on finding different organizations, individuals, and projects for Stonewall to collaborate with and support.
We are a solely volunteer run organization, so if you’d like to contribute your time, talents, and effort as a volunteer please reach out!

Hi! I'm the Kanto East Block Leader and Vice President. I've been a member for over six years and I'm very dedicated to helping Stonewall Japan members find LGBTQIA+ events, resources, and other important information. I also do drag and comedy as my hobbies. Yoroshiku!

Hi! This is Panda, the current Secretary of Stonewall Japan. Supposedly a trustworthy sidekick for the President and the Vice President, I’m mostly in charge of requests and membership. That is to say, I am likely to be the very first Stonewall member to say “Hello” to you!

As the Outreach Director, I help Stonewall Japan or its member connect with other organizations and events in Japan with a purpose of helping the individuals or improving the overall LGBTQIA+ community. I'm a management consultant in Tokyo for my full-time job, but I wanted to take part in the LGBTQIA+ community to make an impact to improve the lives we lead as sexual minorities. Being a volunteer at Stonewall Japan not only contributes to the overall LGBTQIA+ community in Japan, but it also can provide you with opportunitues for yourself to meet individuals that share the same experience living in Japan as a sexual minority, which can be very empowering and fun!!

Hi, my name's Ellis! I lived in Wakayama Prefecture for two years on the JET Program, but now I'm back in America. I enjoy research and helping people communicate and learn, so I'm excited to be putting my Japanese to good use finding local resources for LGBTQ+ folks living in Japan!
(she/her)
I am an undergraduate student studying in New York, major in applied psychology. As a queer woman coming from China, throughout my growth there’s not much LGBTQ+ resources for me to understand and accept my own identity. Hopefully through volunteer in Stonewall Japan, I would be able to support more LGBTQ individuals in Japan who may struggle to find a community or in search for resources.

A Queer Person of Color (QPoC) who is trying to do his bit for gay-rights in Japan. Stonewall Japan is a fantastic community of like-minded rainbow-spectrum members as well as their allies. We are always looking for more members who will make our community vibrant, so sign up if you would like to join us, and if possible, volunteer with us! Go rainbow power!

I'm an Assistant Language Teacher from New Zealand based in Otaru and I'm the current Stonewall Hokkaido Block.
I love my job, and I love living here in Japan. It gives a sense of fulfillment that I never could find back home. And being able to meet others from the Queer community here, to be able to talk with them either in real life or via social media has been an added bonus.

I have been working with Stonewall for going on two years. I have been Stonewall Shikoku Block Leader for a year, and though I am currently the Ehime Prefecture Representative, I am currently carrying out the duties of the Block Leader. I make sure information from Stonewall reaches the people of Shikoku usually through newsletters but also through regional group chats. I also plan and lead events across the region to build community and give people a chance to openly be themselves with others like them. I am hoping to keep this going and continue to build local communities and support groups.

Hey everyone! I’m a block leader for Stonewall Tohoku. My goal in this community is to make connections and reach a better understanding of each other and our place in the world. I do this through discussions on our regional Facebook page as well as local meet ups for sightseeing and building relationships. All things creative as well as scientific are near and dear to my heart so I am involved in many musical, visual media, and mental health activities outside of Stonewall. I aim to give my peers opportunities to express themselves through these passions.

From April 2018 to April 2019, I served as Kyushu South's Block Leader. Under this title, I was able to develop a deeper understanding of the climate of queer life in southern Japan. As a Prefectural Representative, I aim to continue to serve the Stonewall community by providing members with information specific to the place I currently call home, Kagoshima. If you're seeking details regarding queer life in Kagoshima, feel free to get in touch via Stonewall Kyushu's private Facebook group or Kyushu South's Gmail account. よろしくお願いします〜
